How It Works

What is solar-as-a-service and how does it work?

Last updated July 20, 2026

Solar-as-a-service lets you use a rooftop solar system for a fixed monthly fee instead of buying it upfront. SunFund handles the equipment, installation, maintenance, and monitoring; you simply pay a predictable monthly amount that is lower than your previous electricity bill and start saving immediately.

How it works, step by step

  1. Free assessment. We evaluate your roof, energy usage, and savings potential at no cost.
  2. We install and own the system. SunFund covers the ₱0-upfront installation, permits, and grid interconnection.
  3. You pay one monthly fee. It is fixed, predictable, and lower than your current electricity bill.
  4. We maintain it. Monitoring, maintenance, and performance checks are all included for the life of the agreement.

How it differs from buying or a loan

  • Cash purchase — you pay ₱250,000+ upfront and own the system, but carry the maintenance and risk yourself.
  • Solar loan — no system ownership savings until the loan clears, plus interest.
  • Solar-as-a-service — ₱0 upfront, maintenance included, and you save from month one.

This model is why many first-time solar customers in the Philippines choose SunFund. See how it works in more detail, or read about zero-upfront-cost installation.
